This is likely the most detailed, involving, and eloquent interview regarding the genesis of Tron that I’ve ever read. MacBird, the writer Disney first hired, is an old school geek and tried to make the inside of a computer more genuinely techy than Lisberger had made it (let alone the writers of Legacy). She talks about her background in computer science, her friendship and eventual marriage to Alan Kay (the CS pioneer Bradley was based on), what kind of character Tron was originally meant to be, and more.
